How I got here at this time and place, is a mystery to me. I hit something on my i Pad and this appeared. I am not computer savy, but whatever I did to get here, I'm going to take advantage of it, and let my feelings pour out about Hank. I don't know if anyone will ever see this, but I want to write it at this late date, because I never told Hank how special he was to me.
As a neighbor, I couldn't ask for a nicer man. You were always there whenever I needed you for anything. Not only were you there, but you seemed to enjoy doing whatever I wanted you to do. You took away me "Jewish guilt" for imposing upon you, as I knew you would never say no to anything I requested of you. I loved you for that. You knew that I was not very handy, but you always gave me a little something to do, in order not to make me feel completely useless. You were always considerate in all my dealings with you. I felt very comfortable with you whenever we spoke about anything. I appreciated the fact that you always inquired about Ruth's health, in a very sincere manner. You were trully what we call a "mench". I loved your Christmas decorations, and your enthusiasm in which you displayed them. You were a handsome man, but I mainly loved your warm smiley face. You touched my heart in so many ways. At the Yankees game you were so appreciative and excited, that I couldn't help but to enjoy myself. You knew just where to tell us to park, and a shortcut to walk to the stadium. We laughed all the way, and I felt good about everything. I remember needing you as a witness to some papers that I had to sign, and although you didn't know what I was signing or what you were signing as a witness, you trusted me and willingly signed; no questions asked. I hugged you for that and told the broker that you're like a brother to me.
Hank, I miss you and think about you often. I appreciated your confiding in me and telling me all about Antonio, and your battle with the kidney replacement and other ailments. It hurt me, but I'm glad that you were able to vent. You were a special person, understanding, gentle yet strong in your opinions, a teriffic family man, and an excellent friend.
You lived your life in an admiral manner. I respect you for that, and it is an honor to have had you as a neighbor for over 13 years. May you rest in peace, knowing that you left behind a lasting legacy, and a wonderful family. May G-d bless you and keep you in his loving arms!!!

Dearest Hank - When my daughter was born, I knew at that time that I had chosen the "Best" Godparents for her in the world. From the very first day you entered our family, everyone knew what a wonderful person you were. My cousin Mariann was truly blessed to have you for her husband. It's been a fantastic journey knowing you, loving you and being able to grow up together as cousins. I will miss you more than words can say and you will forever be in my thoughts and prayers. I love you!

Our deepest sympathy to your whole family. I only know how wonderful Hank was through Theresa. I'm sure he was special and caring because Theresa exhibits this every day in her love and actions to all that are blessed to know her. I feel like I got to know you in the past few years even though we never met. Rest with the angels and watch over your family. You will always be close to their hearts and never far from their minds.
With Deepest Sympathy,
Linda, Rusty & Michael Gillick
