Veronica Kowaleski of Jamesburg died on October 23, 2014. She was 98 years old. Veronica was born on January 13, 1916 in Monroe Twp. and was a resident of Jamesburg since 1942. She was employed for over 30 years as a finisher in the clothing industry at Ideal Frocks in Jamesburg until her retirement. Very dedicated to her faith, she was a member of Holy Trinity RC Church in Helmetta. She was past president of the Altar Rosary Society, lector, choir member and CCD teacher for many years and devoted her time and talents to benefit her parish and its members. One of her most precious memories is having been presented the medal Regina Nostra from the bishop in honor of her outstanding devotion and service to the Catholic Church. She also served as a Girl Scout leader for several years, had a love of traveling, enjoyed reading, cooking and gardening. Many family and friends have experienced her love of gardening through the pressed flower creations she made. Our mother exemplified the prayer of St. Francis of Assisi – "Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light, and where there is sadness, joy."
Veronica was preceded in death by her husband Henry V. Kowaleski (1986) and her sons James Kowaleski (2013) and Henry M. Kowaleski (2014).
She is survived by her two daughters Barbara Barnacal and her husband Roy of Martinez, CA and Virginia Karschnik and her husband Charles of Memphis, TN, two sisters Monica Owens of Ashland NH and Victoria Vosk of Carney's Point, NJ, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and her long- time friends and next door neighbors, Dennis and Dolores Wigodinski.
