Obituary of Alfred P. DeMonte

Alfred P. DeMonte died on Friday September 26, 2014 at The Gardens at Monroe Healthcare and Rehabilitation LTC. He was 85 years old. Mr. DeMonte was born and raised in the Bronx. He lived in Hazlet for 36 years before moving to Concordia, Monroe Twp. in 1993. He served in the US Navy during WWII and was a tool maker for Beacon Tool Co. in Matawan. He retired in 1994. He was a member of the Christian Fellowship Club at Concordia. He enjoyed photography, travelling, and especially loved spending time with his family. Mr. DeMonte was a craftsman who took pride in taking care of his home. He was an avid sports fan and his favorite teams were the New York Yankees, New York Football Giants, and New York Rangers.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Eleanor (Springer) DeMonte of Concordia, Monroe Twp., six children, Arnold DeMonte and his wife Davida of Old Bridge, Howard DeMonte and his wife Valerie of Doylestown, PA, Robert DeMonte of Ventura, CA, Jody DeMonte Augustadt and her husband William of Battle Lake, MN, Scott DeMonte and his wife Joan of Millstone Twp., and David DeMonte and his wife Bianca of Millstone Twp., 12 grandchildren, Adena, Arielle, Matthew, Joshua, Kayla, Adam, Michael, Rachel, Sara, Jared, Amanda, and Daniel, and two step-grandchildren, Kristopher, and Zackery.
Visitation will be from 9am – 10am on Monday September 29, 2014 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home – 205 Rhode Hall Road, Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 – 732-521-0555. A funeral service will begin at 10am at the conclusion of the visitation. Interment will follow in Clover Leaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge.
