Obituary of Alexander R. Credidio

Alexander R. Credidio died on September 23, 2014 at his home in Manalapan. He was 91 years old. Alexander was born and raised in Newark and has lived in Iselin, Garwood, Monroe Twp. and most recently Manalapan. He served in a US Naval Special Operations Unit in the China, Burma and India Theatre of Operations during WWII. He was a firefighter for the city of Newark Fire Department for 27 years. He began his career serving in Engine Co. 2 and retired in 1983 from Engine Co. 19.
Alexander was preceded in death by his wife Madeline M. (Brescia) Credidio (2009).
He is survived by his son Alexander T. Credidio and his wife Barbara Criscuolo of Manalapan, his daughter Sharon A. Leyva and her husband Lou of Manalapan, 3 grandchildren: Jaclyn and Janelle Leyva and Jenifer Credidio, 3 step-grandchildren and many other extended family members.
A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 10am on Friday September 26, 2014 at St. Michael's RC Church – 40 Alden St., Cranford, NJ 07016. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery – Westfield.
