Daniel J. Callahan, Jr. died on September 7, 2014. He was 70 years old. Daniel was born Queens and lived there until enlisting in the Navy at the age of 17, proudly serving his country for 23 years, attaining the rank E-6 as a pharmacist's mate. He then became a pharmacy technician for the Veterans Administration and worked for over 10 years in various facilities, finally retiring from the Providence, RI facility in 2007. He moved to the Rossmoor community just last year. In his spare time Daniel enjoyed traveling all over the world.
He is survived by his half-brother Donald Callahan of Cooperstown, NY, his brother-in-law, James Murphy and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will begin at 11:15am on Thursday September 11, 2014 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home – 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 – 732-521-0555 followed by a committal service at Holy Cross Burial Park Crematory Chapel – South Brunswick. Visitation will be from 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Wednesday September 10, 2014 at the funeral home.
