Obituary of Edward F. Sigle, Sr.

Edward F. Sigle died on September 8, 2014 at the Reformed Church Home in Old Bridge. He was 88 years old. Edward was born on the family farm in Dayton section of South Brunswick Township and was a lifelong area resident. He was an electrician for over 50 years, working for IBM and Okonite as well as being self-employed until his retirement in 2008. He was a former owner of Country View, Lincoln and Meadow View Care Centers in Jamesburg and Monroe Township. At the age of 19, Ed pitched in the Minor Leagues, playing for Springfield, an affiliate of the NY Giants and the New Brunswick/Kingston Hubs. Edward proudly served his country in the Merchant Marines during World War II. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. In later years, he bred and raced standard bred horses and enjoyed spending summertime at his home in Sackets Harbor, NY with family and friends. Edward was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Elizabeth, 3 brothers Chester, Arthur and George and one sister, Frances Neeff. He is survived by his companion Louise Jones of Old Bridge and her three daughters Donna (Lee) Cherubini, Jennifer (Dave) Anderson, Julia (Charlie) Jasper and their families and 7 sons: Phillip of Helmetta, Edward Jr. (Jan) of Key Largo, Joseph (Judith) of Grand Saline, TX, Carl (Kathy) of Windsor, MO, Paul (Helen) of Monroe Twp., Timothy of San Francisco, CA and Francis of Washington, PA, 3 daughters Patricia of Hopewell VA, Mary Ann (Tony Federico) of Grand Saline, TX and Christine (Ken Kotacska) of Monroe Twp. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. The family would like to thank Yesenia Riviera for acting as Ed's healthcare advocate; it was appreciated by all of us. Funeral services will begin at 9:30am on Monday September 22, 2014 from the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home-205 Rhode Hall Rd, Monroe Twp., NJ 08831-732-521-0555. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00am at St. James RC Church-Jamesburg followed by entombment in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum-South Brunswick. Visitation will be from 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Sunday at the funeral home.
