Obituary of Leonard J. Reifinger

Leonard J. Reifinger – 74 – Monroe Township, NJ Leonard J. Reifinger died on September 4, 2014 at St. Peter's University Medical Center in New Brunswick. He was 74 years old. Leonard was born in Easton, PA and lived in Bronx, NY, Brooklyn, NY and North Brunswick, NJ before finally settling in Monroe Twp. 30 years ago. At the age of 16 he began working for supermarkets in Brooklyn and worked his way up in numerous supermarkets until 1973 when he opened his first supermarket. Throughout his 60 year career he owned and operated numerous stores in the New York area. In his spare time Leonard enjoyed visiting Upstate NY and caring for his 3 horses. He was a well-rounded man who was a private pilot and also enjoyed hunting, golfing, fishing and boating. He was a member of Forsgate Country Club in Monroe Twp., Woodfield Country Club in Boca Raton, FL and the AOPA. Leonard was preceded in death by his brother Edgar H. Reifinger (1974). He is survived by his loving wife Florence (Caggiano) of 50 years, his son Steven and his wife Robin of Cranbury, his daughter Karen Klimkiewicz and her husband Richard of Monmouth Junction, 5 sisters: Mary Ann, Patsy, Bernice, Nancy and Kimmy and 7 grandchildren: Drew, Alexa, Christopher, Nicholas, Sean, Mikey and Matthew.
