John A. Walsh, Jr. died on September 1, 2014 at his residence in Monroe Twp. He was 75 years old. John was born in Jersey City and resided in Monroe Twp. for most of his life. Upon graduating from Queen of Peace Catholic School (Class of 1956) he enlisted in the Navy where he proudly served his country. He was a plank owner of USS Ranger CVA-61. He was employed at Zim American Israel Shipping Company at the World Trade Center as a traffic manager for 28 years until his retirement in 2001. John was a member of the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh of Old Bridge and a parishioner of Immaculate Conception RC Church. During his spare time he enjoyed model building, shuffle board, target shooting and beer making.
John was preceded in death by his wife Joan T. Walsh (2012).
He is survived by his two sons John A. Walsh III and his wife Joanne of Jamesburg and Kevin M. Walsh of Monroe Twp.
Funeral services will begin at 9:30 am on Friday September 5, 2014 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home – 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 – 732-521-0555. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 10:15am at Immaculate Conception RC Church – Spotswood – followed by entombment in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum – South Brunswick. Visitation will be from 7-9pm on Thursday September 6, 2014 at the funeral home.
