Anthony V. Farina died on Monday September 1, 2014 at his home in Rossmoor, Monroe Twp. He was 85 years old. Mr. Farina was born and raised in New York City. He lived in Ridgefield Park, Hackensack, and later, Piscataway for 42 years. He has resided in Rossmoor, Monroe Twp. since 2008. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and retired as a material handler for Revlon, Inc. in Edison. He was an umpire for the Piscataway Little League Baseball Association, a member of the VFW Post in Piscataway, and was a volunteer fireman for the North Stelton Volunteer Fire Co. in Piscataway. He was a member of Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, Monroe Twp. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Salvatore and Carmela (Sciortino) Farina, his son, Anthony Farina, and two brothers, Mel Farina, and John Farina. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margaret P. (Ferrara) Farina of Rossmoor, Monroe Twp., three children, Sal A. Farina of Carteret, Frank M. Farina, Sr. and his wife Maureen of Edison, and Trish Egan and her husband Dennis of Hightstown, one brother, Larry Farina and his wife Rita of PA, two sisters, Pat Anelli of Malverne, LI, NY, and Mary Martino and her husband Joseph of Islip, LI, NY, one sister-in-law, Terry Farina of FL, four grandchildren, Christina Nelson and her husband Christopher, Kimberly Farina, Frank M. Farina, Jr., and Colin Egan, one great grandson, Zachary Nelson, and many other extended family members. Funeral services will begin at 8:45am on Thursday September 4, 2014 from the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc., 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. A funeral liturgy will be 9:30am at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, Monroe Twp. followed by Interment in Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet. Visitation is Wednesday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the funeral home. For those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, www.heart.org.
