Carmen (Vargas) Campanali passed away on Monday May 12, 2014 at her residence in Rossmoor, Monroe Township. She was 85 years old. Carmen was born and raised in Puerto Rico. She came to the US in 1950 and settled in New York City. She lived in Staten Island and Poplarville, Mississippi. She has resided in Rossmoor, Monroe Twp. since 1997. In addition to raising her family as a homemaker, she was a caretaker at Willowbrook State School in Staten Island until her retirement in 1975. Carmen was a parishioner of St. James the Less RC Church in Jamesburg.
Carmen is survived by her loving husband of 62 years Michael N. Campanali, Sr., her sons Michael N. Campanali, Jr. and Steven Campanali both of San Francisco, CA, her daughter Catherine Moskowski and her husband Stanley of North Brunswick, two brothers William and Raymond Vargas both of Puerto Rico, a sister Gloria Montenez of Weehawken, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are many other extended family members.
Visitation will be from 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Wednesday May 14, 2014 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home – 205 Rhode Hall Road, Monroe Township, NJ 08831 – 732-521-0555. Funeral services will begin at 10:00am on Thursday May 15, 2014 from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 10:30am at St. James the Less RC Church, Jamesburg. Cremation is private.
