Colleen Marie Cahill passed away after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on Tuesday May 6, 2014 at her home in Cranbury. Born on May 18, 1956 in Elmira, NY to Ronald and Corrine (Hollenbeck) Cahill, she was 57 years old. The oldest of five children, she graduated high school in 1974 at Glenelg in Glenelg, MD. She studied art and Fashion Design at the Maryland Institute of Art in Baltimore and at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. She spent a successful 15 years in the fashion industry in NYC and Los Angeles. In 1983, she married Michael Brunskill. They had three children, Rebecca, Luke, and Emma. The family first lived in the Los Angeles area before settling in Cranbury, NJ. She was the director of religious education at her parish, Nativity of Our Lord RC Church in Monroe Twp. for 10 years. She enjoyed painting and was active in the Cranbury Arts Council and was a Gourgand Gallery Committee Member.
She was pre-deceased by her daughter, Emma Kate Brunskill in 2011, and her mother, Corrine S. (Hollenbeck) Cahill.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Michael Brunskill of Cranbury, two children, Rebecca Brunskill, and Lucas Brunskill both of Cranbury, her father, Ronald G. Cahill of Newark, DE, four siblings, Michael Cahill of Gaithersburg, MD, Scott Cahill of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Cindy Moore of PA, and Laurie Ellis of Thurmont, MD, and their families. She is also survived by many other extended family members.
Visitation will be from 5-7pm on Friday May 9, 2014 at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church 185 Applegarth Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831. A vigil service will take place at 7:00pm at the conclusion of the visitation. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 11:00am on Saturday May 10, 2014 at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, Monroe Twp. Cremation will follow Mass and is private. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. 205 Rhode Hall Rd.
