John J. Donlon, Sr. – 77 – Monroe Twp., NJ
John J. Donlon, Sr., known to his friends and family as Jack, died on Wednesday April 23, 2014 at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. John was born in Brooklyn, NY and lived there for most of his life before moving to Old Bridge, NJ and finally Clearbrook in Monroe Twp. eight years ago. He was an active parishioner of Nativity of Our Lord Church, enjoyed woodworking, boating and fishing. He was also a member of the Bocce Ball Club in Clearbrook.
John was especially known for his sense of humor.
John was preceded in death by his brother Patrick Donlon, his sister Mary Vay and his granddaughter Kristie Nicole Donlon.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Patricia (Arscott), two sons Jack and Gregory and his wife Renee, his daughter Mary Ellen and her husband Joseph Presa, Sr., three sisters, Patricia Hughes, Helen Smallman and Elizabeth DeCamp, seven grandchildren, Joseph, Christopher, Danielle, Nicolle, Courtney, Jacqueline and Kimberly and two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Lucy.
Funeral services will begin at 8:45am on Saturday April 26, 2014 from the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home – 205 Rhode Hall Road Monroe Township – a funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 9:30am at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church – 185 Applegarth Road Monroe Township. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park – South Brunswick. Visitation will be from 7-9pm on Thursday and 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Friday at the funeral home
