Obituary of Rita V. Pergola

Rita Pergola – 98 – Lakewood, NJ Rita Pergola, 98, of Lakewood, NJ entered into eternal rest on April 13, 2014. She was predeceased by her loving husband Frank Pergola and her parents Laura and Leonard Cartwright. Rita lived all of her married life in Jamesburg, NJ and was a very active member of the community. She served two terms as President of the PTA, led a Brownie Troup and volunteered for many church activities at St. James the Less RC Church. She also worked at many different jobs. She was a preschool teacher's assistant and worked in retail at Loehmann's Department Store. Some of her hobbies were ball room dancing, cooking, painting and writing poetry. Rita is survived by her two devoted sons, Joseph and his wife Josephine of Monroe Township and Michael and his wife Lisa of Brielle. She was a loving and generous grandmother, affectionately called Granny Reet to Joseph Pergola, Jr., Frank Pergola and Maria Franzoni. She leaves behind seven cherished great-grandchildren, Joey Pergola III, Amber Pergola, Mia Pergola, Frankie Pergola, Eddie Jake Franzoni and Matt and Mike Franzoni. She will be missed but never forgotten. Funeral services will begin at 9 am Thursday April 17, 2014 from the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home – 205 Rhode Hall Road, Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 – 732-521-0555. A funeral liturgy will begin at 9:30am at St. James the Less RC Church - Jamesburg, followed by Interment in the parish cemetery. Visiting hours are on Wednesday April 16, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9pm.
