Obituary of Terence P. McGowan

Terence P. McGowan – 86 – Monroe Township, NJ Terence P. McGowan passed away on April 8, 2014 at the age of 86. Mr. McGowan was born and raised in New York, NY before ultimately settling in Monroe Township. He proudly served his country in the Navy during World War II. He graduated from Pace University in NYC with a Business Degree majoring in Accounting and was a Financial Executive for Kinney Shoe Corp. in NYC where he worked for 25 years before his retirement in 1992. He was preceded in death by his daughter Kathleen Ross (1990) and his brother Cormac McGowan. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 plus years, Catherine (Boland) of Monroe Twp., his son Terence McGowan, Jr. of Neptune, his daughters Mary Baker and her husband Anthony of Manalapan and Eileen Smith and her husband Bob of Westfield, two sisters, Peggy Berry of Queens, NY and Catherine Curtin of Long Island, NY and seven grandchildren, Veronica, Virginia, Erin, Moira, Colleen, Kevin and Juliette. Funeral services will begin at 8:45am Saturday April 12, 2014 from the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home – 205 Rhode Hall Road, Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 – 732-521-0555. A funeral liturgy will begin at 9:30am at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church – Monroe Twp., followed by Interment in St. Rose of Lima – Freehold.
