Rose Holsten, 102, died at her residence in Monroe Village on Saturday March 1, 2014, after a wonderful and long life. Rose was born in East Brunswick where she resided for most of her life, until the death of her beloved husband, John G. Holsten in 1996 after 63 years of marriage. We will all remember Rose for her wonderful pie baking, exceptional sewing and gardening. Having her own greenhouse, she raised quality vegetables and flowers to sell. During her life, Rose, was an active parishioner of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Milltown and the PTAs in her children's schools. Rose is preceded in death by her daughter, Janet Slaboda (2011) Rose is survived by her daughter Sandra H. Vanacore and her husband, Vincent J. of Tennessee and Florida, five grandchildren: Kim Slaboda of Texas, Kevin Slaboda of California, Lori Slaboda of Virginia, Susan Teaford, of Florida, Linda Vanacore of Gorgia, six great grandchildren: Andrew and Adelle Slaboda; Tyler and Katelyn Teaford; Holsten and Hadley Hayes. A graveside service will be 11:30am on Friday March 7, 2014, at Franklin Memorial Park - North Brunswick. All are welcome.
