Salvatrice 'Sylvia' Frasca – 86 – Monroe Township, NJ
Salvatrice 'Sylvia' Frasca of Monroe Township, NJ died on February 5, 2014 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. She was born in Sicily, Italy and came to the United States in 1937. She first settled in New Brunswick, NJ and later lived in Perth Amboy, NJ before moving to Rossmoor, Monroe Township, NJ in 1995.
In addition to being a homemaker, Salvatrice worked for many years as a customer representative for Neves Jewelers in Perth Amboy, NJ. Salvatrice was also a member of the Rossmoor Italian American Club.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Salvatore and Fillipa (Alberti) Pelligra, her first husband Salvatore Cangialosi (1970), her second husband Stephen Frasca (1998) and her brother Ralph Pelligra.
She is survived by her stepdaughters, Yvonne Weiss and her husband Howard of Fords, NJ and Cheryl Shaw of South Plainfield, NJ, two brothers, Luke Pelligra and his wife Grace of Barnegat, NJ and Vincent Pelligra and his wife Nikki of North Brunswick, NJ, four step grandchildren, David Weiss and his wife Karen, Jolene Weiss and her companion Andrew Moon, Jeffrey Weiss and his wife Carrie and Rachel Vachon and her husband Kerry, and six step great grandchildren. She is also survived by eight nieces and nephews and many other extended family members.
Funeral services will begin on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at 8:45am from the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home – 205 Rhode Hall Road Monroe Township. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 9:30am at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church – 185 Applegarth Road Monroe Township. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery – New Brunswick, NJ. Visitation will be Monday, February 10, 2014 from 4-8pm at the funeral home.
