Obituary of Vincenza O. Tumminia

Vincenza O. Tumminia, 69, succumbed to her courageous 23 year battle to breast cancer, on Thursday January 16, 2014 with her loving family by her side. Vincenza was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and resided for most of her life in New Jersey. She treasured spending her summers on Cape May. Vincenza enjoyed gardening, cooking for her family and reading. She was an active parishioner of Nativity of Our Lord and a member of the Italian American Club of East Brunswick and Monroe Township. Most important to her was her family and she cherished spending time with them, especially with her grandchildren. Vincenza is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Stephen Tumminia of Monroe Township, two daughters: Danielle Dudas and her husband Dave of Linden, NJ, Claudine Caggiano and her husband Antonio of Helmetta, NJ, a brother, Louis Ercole and his wife Rosemarie of Staten Island, NY, two sisters: Mary Fazio of Lincroft, NJ, Mattie Lavezzoli and her husband Anthony of Monroe Township, four grandchildren: David John, Jr. and Anna Dudas, Mia and Kai Caggiano. Also surviving are many extended family members and friends. Vincenza is preceded in death by her sister Anna Fioravante and two brothers in law: John Fioravante and Thomas Fazio. Funeral services will begin on Monday January 20, 2014 at 8:45am from the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home – 205 Rhode Hall Rd – Monroe Twp. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 9:30am at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church – 185 Applegarth Rd Monroe Township. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Burial Park & Mausoleum. Visitation will be Sunday January 19, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-9pm at the funeral home.
