Obituary of Nicholas J. Adamo

Nicholas J. Adamo died on Monday January 13, 2014 at Community Hospital in Toms River. He was 83 years old. Mr. Adamo was born in New York City and was raised in Brooklyn. He later lived in Raintree, Freehold, NJ for eight years before moving to Holiday City South in Toms River in 1995. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and was a civil engineer for the City of New York Transit Authority for 33 years before his retirement in 1988. He was a member of the Toms River VFW Post 10185 and was a parishioner of St. Maximillian Kolbe RC Church in Toms River. He always enjoyed socializing with friends and neighbors who resided in his cul-de-sack in Toms River.
He was pre-deceased by his first wife, Grace (Tusa) Adamo in 1960, and his second wife, Norine (Lippert) Adamo in 2014.
He is survived by his son, Anthony Adamo and his wife Susan of Monroe Twp., his sister, MaryAnn Buccellato and her husband Philip, and their three children, two step-children, Maureen Richvalsky and her husband Chuck, and their three children, and Lonnie Lippert and his wife Trisha, and many other extended family members.
Funeral services will begin at 8:45am on Thursday January 16, 2014 from the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. A funeral liturgy will be 9:30am at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, Monroe Twp. followed by interment in St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, LI, NY. Visitation will be from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
