Obituary of Doris B. Semmel

Doris (Hermelin) Semmel went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday January 8, 2014 at The Evergreens in Moorestown, NJ. Mrs. Semmel was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. She lived in Miami, FL before returning to New York City and later lived in Elmwood Park for many years. She has resided in The Ponds, Monroe Twp. since 1996. She began her working career in the modeling industry prior to becoming a payroll manager, first for Empire Carpet in NY and NJ, and later for Ricoh Corporation in West Caldwell until her retirement in 2005. She was a proud member of St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church in New York City where she was an active member, including serving as an usher and being involved in the welcoming committee. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Herbert 'Scott' Semmel in 2007. She is survived by her son, Scott H. Semmel and his wife Lois of Burlington Twp., her sister, Rochelle Broadman of Freehold, two grandchildren, Kyle, and Jenna, and many other extended family members. Visitation will be on Friday January 10, 2014 from 5:30pm to 8:30pm at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. A funeral service will be held on Saturday January 11, 2014 at 1:00pm at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church 325 Park Ave. NY, NY 10022. A private cremation will follow.
