Thelma E. (Andrews) Wallace died on Saturday November 30, 2013 at the Reformed Church Home in Old Bridge. She was 89 years old. Mrs. Wallace was born in Jersey City. She lived in Sayreville for 25 years before moving to Old Bridge in 1980. She was a clerk for the US Postal Service in Parlin and Sayreville and later worked as a dispatcher in Kearney. She served in the US Marine Corps during WWII. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of South Amboy and was a 50 year member of the South Amboy/Matawan Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was pre-deceased by her husband Ernest S. Wallace in 1969. She is survived by three children, Lawrence A. Wallace of Laurence Harbor, Janis L. Celen and her husband Theodore of Delaware, and Gary J. Wallace and his wife Anne of Spotswood, seven grandchildren, Kimberly & Tom Ferris, Karen & Cameron McGinnis, Robert Carrol, Scott & Jasmine Carrol, Megan & Ryan Hale, Melissa & Anthony Fattori, and Amber Celen, and three great grandchildren, Dylan, Corinne, and Cayden. Visitation will be Tuesday December 3, 2013 from 3pm to 6pm at the M. David DeMarco Funeral home, 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. A funeral service will be 10:00am on Wednesday at the funeral home followed by Interment in Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick. In lieu of flowers, and for those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to either the Wounded Warrior Project 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300 Jacksonville, FL 32256 OR to the Reformed Church Home 1990 Rt. 18 N Old Bridge, NJ 08857.
