Obituary of Anthony Mercado, Sr.

Anthony Mercado, Sr. died on Thursday November 21, 2013 at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 72 years old. Mr. Mercado was born and raised in the Bronx, NY. He has resided in Monroe Twp. since 1970. He was a self-employed accountant for over forty years and was dedicated to serving his clients. He had a love of Latin music and was a true family man who cherished the time spent with them. He was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church, Spotswood. He was predeceased by his wife, Angelica (Quinones) Mercado in 2008, one brother, Tito Mercado, and one sister, Carmen Prestridge. He is survived by his two children, Anthony Mercado, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Helmetta, and Tricia A. Mercado of Helmetta, his son-in-law, Christopher Spano of Helmetta, two sisters, Jenny Oquendo of Manchester Twp., and Louisa Mercado of Manchester Twp., three grandchildren, C.J. Spano, Nicholas Mercado, and Gabriella Spano, and many other extended family members. Funeral services will begin at 10:30am on Saturday November 30, 2013 from the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. A funeral liturgy will be 11:00am at St. James the Less RC Church, Jamesburg, followed by Entombment in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, S. Brunswick. Visitation will be Friday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the funeral home.
