Obituary of Helen M. Intravartolo

Mrs. Helen M. (Nemecz) Intravartolo died Saturday November 17, 2013. She was 86 years old. Born in Perth Amboy, she was raised on her family's farm in Englishtown. She graduated in 1945 from Jamesburg HS and married her classmate, Santo Intravartolo in 1948. They settled in Jamesburg to raise their family. Helen was briefly employed at DuPont de Nemours in Parlin in the photo refinishing department, and worked at Intravartolo's Market, a family business in Jamesburg for many years. She supported her husband in a successful home contracting business in Jamesburg in the 60's and 70's as well. For over 20 years she and her husband owned and operated Corkscrew Wine and Liquors in Monroe Twp. She was a 65 year member of the American Legion Star Post 127 Ladies Auxiliary, Jamesburg, and was a past president. She especially enjoyed bus trips, cooking and always being there to help her family, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her fondest time of year was Spring when she could be found picking strawberries at the local central Jersey farms for all her family. In 1998 she and her husband celebrated their 50th anniversary at their son's home. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years , Santo (2003), her loving parents, Anna (Varga) and Joseph Nemetz, sisters Mary Stankovics, Anna Krawiec, Jeannette Toth, and a brother, Joseph. Surviving are her son, John and his wife, Nancy of Monroe Twp., and a daughter, Robin Yeager of Hillsborough, her grandchildren, Ann Marie and her husband, Anthony, Santo and his wife, Victoria, Jennifer and her husband, Joe, Audrey, Jillena and April and two great grandchildren, John and Aiden Joseph. Also surviving are her cherished brothers in law, Joseph Toth and Dr. John Intravartolo, sisters in law, Antoinette and Catherine Intravartolo, Madelyn Hart and her husband, Jim, Rita Sutton and her husband Rich, God daughter, Donna (Toth) Bunton, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 10:30am Wednesday at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp. , Rev. Gary Filson officiating. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Mausoleum, So. Brunswick. Visitation will be Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9pm and Wednesday morning from 9:30am until the service.
