Obituary of Lydia E. Rodriguez

Lydia E. (Villanueva) Rodriguez died on Friday November 1, 2013. She was 70 years old. Mrs. Rodriguez was born and raised in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. She came to the US in 1957 and settled in Brooklyn. She resided there until moving to Monroe Twp. in 1999. She was a bookkeeper for A & P Food Store in Brooklyn and later was a meat wrapper for Associated Food Store in Brooklyn. She retired in 1998. She was a certified foster parent and enjoyed cooking and keeping family traditions. She had a heart of gold and was a compassionate, kind, and forgiving person. She loved her family and especially cherished the time spent with them. She was pre-deceased by her husband less than six weeks ago, Marcos Rodriguez, Sr., her parents, Jesus, Sr. and Julia (Roldan) Villanueva, two brothers, Jesus Villanueva, Jr., and Jose Villanueva, and one brother-in-law, Mariano Fonseca. She leaves behind five children, Judy Rodriguez, Anna Salvadore and her husband Richard of Monroe Twp., Marcos Rodriguez, Jr. and his wife Charlotte of Monroe Twp., Jennifer Rodriguez and her husband Richard Musse of Manalapan, and Stephanie Rodriguez of Monroe Twp., seven siblings, Aida Fonseca of Margate, FL, Maria Nieves and her husband Jesus of Tamarac, FL, Antonia Bermudez and her husband Manuel of Miami, FL, Carmen Cuadrado and her husband Carlos of Miami, FL, Martha Villanueva of Tamarac, FL, Victor Villanueva of Miami, FL, and Tony Villanueva and his wife Doreen of Lauderhill, FL, one sister-in-law, Juanita Villanueva of Miami, FL, 13 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and many other extended family members. A blessing will be 11:00am on Friday November 8, 2013 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. Interment will follow in Fernwood Cemetery, Jamesburg. Visitation will be 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Thrusday at the funeral home.
