Obituary of Marion T. Castellano

Marion Theresa Castellano, 82, of Monroe Township, New Jersey, passed away on Saturday October 26, 2013. She was born to the late Peter and Rose Benedetto, February 22 1931, in Philadelphia, PA. Marion grew up on Rivington Street in Manhattan, NY. She married Albert Castellano in 1956, and they lived together in Brooklyn, NY, before relocating to Monroe, NJ in 2007. Marion did her internship for fashion and design in Brooklyn and worked as a seamstress. Once she had children she worked as a crossing guard and kept a close watch over Holy Ghost school. She returned to fashion and design as a sample maker and assistant to designer, Tony Krupa, for I.Appel, on 34th Street, NYC, and retired at age 65. Marion was passionate about making a difference in the lives of those around her. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. She was wonderfully caring and always welcoming. She was known for her hospitality; "We'll set a place for you at the table" Marion is survived by her husband, Albert; sister Jeanne & brother-in-law Anthony; two children; Joanne Castellano of NC, and Philip Castellano and daughter-in-law Geraldine of NJ. She also is survived by five grandchildren; Drew, John, James, PJ and Kiera. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Alzheimer's Association http://www.alz.org/ or Hospice http://www.hospicenet.org/ Visitation will be Tuesday October 29th from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday October 30th at 10am from the funeral home. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery - Brooklyn.
