John M. Dietlmeier died on Saturday October 5, 2013 at his home in Clearbrook, Monroe Twp. He was 87 years old. Mr. Dietlmeier was born in Irvington, NJ. He lived in Union for 62 years before moving to Clearbrook, Monroe Twp. in 2010. He was a corporal in the US Marine Corps and served during WWII. He was a technician for NJ Bell Telephone Co. in Union for 43 years before his retirement in 1988. Upon retirement, he volunteered at Union Hospital. He enjoyed gardening and especially loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Rita (Engel) Dietlmeier of Clearbrook, Monroe Twp., two daughters, Barbara Duigon and her husband Allan, Sr. of Parlin, and Karen Quattrocchi and her husband Donald of Monroe Twp., one sister, Ann Krutz of Woodburn, OR, two grandchildren, Melissa Braine and her husband Patrick, and Allan Duigon, Jr. and his wife Beatrice, five great grandchildren, Samantha, Patrick, Megan, Olivia, and Veronica.
