James R. McLaughlin, Sr. – Greenbrier at Whittingham - Monroe Twp., NJ James R. McLaughlin, Sr., 80, died on Wednesday September 18, 2013 at the Elms of Cranbury with his family by his side. James was born in Woburn, MA; he resided in Brooklyn, NY and Old Bridge, NJ before moving to Greenbrier at Whittingham - Monroe Twp., NJ eighteen years ago. James was employed by Conrail as a Railroad Yard Master for thirty seven years, retiring in 1992. He proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean War. James was a parishioner of Nativity of Our Lord RC Church – Monroe Twp., an avid golfer, and NY Giants and Yankee fan. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and was also a member of the Italian American Club of Greenbrier at Whittingham. James is survived by his loving wife of fifty five years, Charlotte McLaughlin of Greenbrier at Whittingham - Monroe Twp., NJ, two sons: James McLaughlin, Jr. and his wife Paula of Keyport, NJ, Peter McLaughlin and his wife Laura of Neptune City, NJ, a daughter, Linda Moore and her husband Peter of Lake Mary, FL, a brother, Edward McLaughlin of Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ, a sister, Florence Fuller and her husband Edmund of Centerville, MA., and three grandchildren: Elizabeth and Christopher Moore and Kerrin McLaughlin. Funeral services will begin at 8:45am Tuesday from the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 9:30am at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church – 185 Applegarth Rd – Monroe Twp. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery – Parlin, NJ. Visitation will be Monday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society – www.cancer.org . For more information please visit www.demarcofuneralhome.com
