Obituary of Joseph Citro

Mr. Joseph Citro died Thursday September 12th at St. Peter's University Medical Center, New Brunswick. He was 75 years old.
Born in Jersey City, was a graduate of Snyder HS, and lived there before moving to Spotswood in 1971. During a 50 + year career in the construction business, he was involved in various specific areas of the trade, and since 1991 owned and operated the Accent Kitchens and Countertop Co. now of Monroe Township.
His professional knowledge and love of community saw him become very involved in his hometown. Because of his expertise in construction, he was asked to sit on the advisory committee of the new Spotswood High School in 1973. He was active with the Spotswood Jaycees, and served as Vice Chairman of the Middlesex County Horse Show. He was the emergency fill-in ring announcer at the Professional Wrestling Show produced at Spotswood HS in 1978, and was currently a member and vice president of the Board of the Spotswood Public Library. He served in the US Army from 1962 to 1963.
His wife, Anna Marie Sorbola died in March of 2012, and he was also predeceased by a brother, Dominick. Surviving are two daughters, Donna Marie Citro of Spotswood and Caryn Ann Citro of Millstone, two sons, Joseph A. and his wife, Jacklyn of Milltown and Dominic Citro and his partner, Clayton Armstrong, of Los Angeles, CA, a brother, Frank Citro, Jr. of Las Vegas, NV and nine grandchildren, Christopher, Leah, Joseph, Brandon, Julia, Gianna, Alexis, Jenna and Jarrett.
Funeral services will begin at 9:30am Monday from the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 10:15am at Immaculate Conception RCC, Spotswood. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park, So. Brunswick. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 6pm.
