Mrs. Erika (Brau) Heavey died Tuesday July 30th at St. Peter's University Medical Center, New Brunswick. She was 85 years old.
Born in Bremen, Germany, she came to the US as a child and lived most of her life in Brooklyn, before moving to Staten Island. She was an administrative secretary at Chase Manhattan Bank headquarters in New York City for 25 years, retiring in 1982.
Surviving are a son, Robert DeMarco and his wife, Roberta of Monroe Township, a sister, Ann Cracchiolo of Brooklyn, a granddaughter, Corrine Love and her husband, Andre, and three great grandchildren, Anthony, Andre and Devon Love.
Funeral services will be Thursday evening at 8pm at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp. A prayer service will be conducted Friday morning at 11:30am at the funeral home, after which the committal and interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Brooklyn. Friends and relatives are invited to visit at the funeral home from 6-9pm Thursday and 10:30am until 11:30am Friday morning. For directions, please visit www.demarcofuneralhome.com.
