Robert N. (Sonny Jim) Gilliland – Spotswood, NJ Robert N. (Sonny Jim) Gilliland, 80, died on June 22, 2013 at the JFK Medical Center in Edison, NJ. Robert was born and raised in Jamesburg, NJ and has resided in Spotswood since 2000. Robert was employed by Quaker Oats in New Brunswick for many years before working in the auto body industry for JP Motors in Jamesburg. He enjoyed horse racing and NASCAR. Most important to him was his family. He loved spending time with them, especially his grandchildren. Robert is survived by his wife Marie (Spinola) Gilliland of 29 years, his children John J. Anthony and his wife Melissa of Cranbury, N.J. Robert Gilliland of Lancaster, PA, James Gilliland and his wife Leslie of Dayton, NJ, Edward Gilliland of East Brunswick, N.J. Debra VanLiew and her husband John of Jamesburg, NJ, Nancy Tagliaferro and her husband Andrew of Monroe Twp., NJ, Patricia Blumig and her husband Kevin of East Brunswick, NJ, Susan Keach and her husband Duane of East Brunswick, NJ, Donna Taylor of East Brunswick, NJ, one brother, William Gilliland of Spotswood, NJ three sisters: Wiletta Paprocki of Spotswood, NJ, Dorothy Phares of Monroe Twp, NJ, Ethel Shea of Jamesburg, NJ, twenty grandchildren, two great grandchildren and his Goddaughter Emily Dudkin of Jamesburg, NJ. Also surviving are many extended family members and friends.
