Obituary of Stella C. Ostaszewski

Stella Catherine Kowalski Ostaszewski entered this world on January 19, 1925 to Stanley and Pauline Kowalski. She was raised in Jersey City, New Jersey with her brothers Charles and Frank, and sisters Sophie and Regina. On October 28, 1944 she became the wartime bride of Henry Ostaszewski. Stella and Henry raised their two children, Henry and Jean, in Emerson, New Jersey. After 35 years, she retired with her husband to Boynton Beach, Florida. She resided and made many happy memories there until 2008 when she moved back to Monroe Township, New Jersey, near her daughter and family. Stella is survived by her sister-in-law, Marjorie Kowalski. Children: Henry Ostaszewski and his wife Judy. Jean Cortiglia and her husband Bob. Grandchildren: Henry and Joseph Ostaszewski, Stacie Collins and her husband Steve, Carolyn Ostaszewski Burke and her partner James Snyder, Rob Cortiglia and his wife Anna, Jill Falsone and her husband Phil, Kristen Cortiglia and her husband Matt Kemper. Great-grandchildren: Paul, Carlie, Jamie, Brooke, Hannah, Ben, Wyatt, Jake, Taylor, Tess and four great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, especially Eva and Paul Hogan, Florence Lyden and Regina Cotter. During her final days, Stella resided at The Gardens of Monroe, surrounded by her loving family and wonderful friends. We thank everyone for their love, support and prayers during this difficult time. When a loved one dies our world is forever changed. Cremation will follow mass and is private. There will be no public visitation, and funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. 205 Rhode Hall Rd.
