Mrs. Joan A. (Tierney) Bannworth died Sunday March 17th at the Cranbury Care Center, Monroe Township. She was 73 years old. Born in Paterson, she lived in Nutley for 40 years, moving to The Ponds Community in Monroe Township in 2006. She was an industrial specialist for the Department of Defense/US Air Force, working through ITT in Clifton, for 25 years, retiring in 2006. While living in the Ponds, she was active in several clubs and organizations, including the Singles Club. She was a communicant of Nativity of Our Lord RCC, Monroe Twp. Mrs. Bannwortth was predeceased by a brother, John Tierney, and two sisters, Maryann Tierney and Margaret Blackenship. Surviving are a son, Thomas and his wife, Lynne of New Providence, a daughter, Debbie and her fiancee, Rocco Cuozzo of Monroe Township, a sister, Rita Santo of Wayne and three grandchildren, Alexandria, Victor and Michael Bannworth. Private cremation services were entrusted to the M. Davd DeMarco Funeral Home, Monroe Township. A Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Magnificat RC Church, 2 Miller Rd. Kinnelon, NJ 07405 on Saturday April 6th at 12:30pm.
