Obituary of Thomas R. Hussey

Thomas R. Hussey died on Sunday January 27, 2013 at Cranbury Center, Monroe Twp. He was 78 years old. Mr. Hussey was born in Jersey City and was raised in Union. He lived in Queens, NY for over 20 years before returning to New Jersey. He lived in Rahway and South Amboy prior to moving to Monroe Twp. a short time ago. He served in the US Army and was stationed in Germany during his service. He was an avid sports fan his entire life and was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the early 1950's. He also played basketball on scholarship from Xavier High School in Manhattan. He was a jack of all trades and had several occupations throughout his life including working for Roger Smith Hotels, Bartons Candy Corp., Pechters Bread Co., and United Vending. He also operated his own soda company, Whippersnapper Soda Co. based out of New Jersey. He was a lover of all sports and played softball well into his 60's. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Funeral services will begin at 11:00am on Friday February 1, 2013 from the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. A funeral liturgy will be 11:30am at St. James the Less RC Church, Jamesburg. Interment will follow in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
