Obituary of Carmelo Leonardo

Carmelo Leonardo died on Wednesday December 12, 2012 at his home in Clearbrook, Monroe Twp. He was 75 years old. Mr. Leonardo was born and raised in Capo d'orlando, Messina, Italy. He came to the US in 1970 and settled in Brooklyn. He later lived in Staten Island for 30 years before moving to Clearbrook, Monroe Twp. in 2011. He was a barber his entire life and owned and operated his own business, Leonardo Hairstylist, in Brooklyn until his retirement in 2010. He was a parishioner of St. James the Less RC Church, Jamesburg. He is survived by three daughters, Grace DiPaolo and her husband Tommy of Union, Giovanna Leonardo-Dolan and her husband Tom of Old Bridge, and Vanessa Leonardo of Staten Island, four sisters, Laura Recupero, Franca Bartolo, Carmela Buttà, and Rosa Crifò, one sister-in-law, Rosalia Leonardo, three granddaughters, one grandson, and many other extended family members. Funeral services will begin at 10:00am Saturday December 15, 2012 from the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. A funeral liturgy will be 10:30am at St. James the Less RC Church, Jamesburg followed by Entombment in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, S. Brunswick. Visitation will be Friday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the funeral home.
