Obituary of Walter I. Shea

Walter I. Shea died on Monday November 19, 2012 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was 62 years old. Mr. Shea was born in Tennent. He was raised in Englishtown and later lived in Freehold before moving to Jamesburg in 1979. He was a purple heart recipient as a veteran of the US Army and served during the Vietnam War. He was a HVAC Engineer for Boston Properties in East Brunswick until his retirement. He served on the Englishtown/Manalapan First Aid Squad.
He was pre-deceased by his parents, Bernard, Jr. and Jeannette (Gallagher) Shea, and his brother, John 'Jack' Shea.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Ethel M. (Gilliland) Shea of Jamesburg, one step-son, Charles Earley and his wife Diane of Jackson, four siblings, Susan Louk of Howell, Gary Shea and his wife Kathleen of Point Pleasant, Raymond Shea and his wife Cindy of Brick, and Connie Smiles of Cream Ridge, two step-grandchildren, Kimberley, and Kevin, Emily Genthe whom he considered his daughter, and many other extended family members.
A funeral service will be at 11:00am Monday November 26, 2012 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. Interment will follow in Fernwood Cemetery, Jamesburg. Visitation will be 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Sunday at the funeral home.
