Obituary of Winifred V. Brown

Winifred V. (Clelland) Brown, 87, of Monroe Twp., NJ entered into eternal rest on Friday November 2, 2012. She was born on August 14, 1925 in New Brunswick and grew up in Highland Park with her five siblings. After attending Saint Paul's School and graduating from Highland Park High School, she worked for Johnson & Johnson in New Brunswick. On August 17, 1946, she married the love of her life, Harris R. Brown. Together, they raised five children in North Brunswick and Highland Park. Since 1998, she lived in Greenbriar @ Whittingham in Monroe Twp. Winnie had a zest for life and will always be remembered by her wonderful smile and laughter. She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. James the Less RC Church, Jamesburg. The two things she cherished most were her family and her faith in God. Winifred was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, Harris R. Brown in 1987; her parents, William and Winifred (McMurtry) Clelland; her brother, William Clelland, and her sister, Margaret Ardos. She is survived by three sons; Richard H. Brown and his wife Christine of Boca Grande, FL.; Robert C. Brown of Hartland, WI. and Gregory Q. Brown and his wife Anna-Louise of Barrington Hills, IL.; two daughters; Winifred V. Brown of Monroe Twp. and Catherine A. Fodor and her husband Tony of Monroe Twp.; one brother, Francis W. Clelland and his wife Rose of Fords; two sisters, Lucille Tilton and her husband John of St. Petersburg, FL. and Maxine Kress and her husband Jack of The Villages, FL.; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren, and many other extended family members. Funeral services will begin at 9:30am Saturday November 10, 2012 from the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. A funeral liturgy will be 10:00am at St. James the Less RC Church followed by Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery, New Brunswick. Visitation will be from 4-7pm on Friday at the funeral home.
