Lorrain Prato, 88, of Zephyrhills, Florida died peacefully with her family by her side in Monroe Township, NJ on October 11, 2012.
Born in Newark, NJ, Lorrain (Rayne) was a devout Christian Nun for 25 years with the Sisters of the Poor of St. Francis. With a degree from Seton Hall, she served as a Registered Nurse and X-Ray Technician in the various hospitals throughout the U.S. that were operated by the sisters.
After leaving the Convent, she worked for 20 years with CNA as a Registered Rehabilitation Nurse before retiring and moving to Florida. She was very happy in Zephyrhills until she became too ill to stay alone, at which point she wanted to be with her family in New Jersey.
Lorrain is predeceased by a brother John Carpenter and sister Elsie Tafaro.
Surviving are her loving sister, Lillian Theoret, and her 4 children, Andre, Robert, Diane and John, as well as her many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday October 26, 2012 at 10am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church – 5316 11th St. - Zephyrhills, Florida. Inurnment will follow at Oak Side Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, if you so desire, donations can be made in the memory of Lorrain, to St. Joseph's Catholic Church – 5316 11th Street – Zephyrhills, FL. 33542.
