John T. Mainwaring, 90, died on October 9, 2012 at the J.F.K. Medical Center in Edison, NJ. John was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY; he resided in Edison for most of his life before moving to Rossmoor,
Monroe Twp. 19 years ago.
John proudly served his country in the Army during World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post # 401 – South Brunswick. He was employed for 35 years by S&H Green Stamps, as a supervisor, retiring
in 1989.
John is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Freda Colleen (Moore)Mainwaring, a son, John Mainwaring and his wife Valerie of Red Bank, a daughter, Mary Eichler and her husband Henry of Kendall Park, five grandchildren: Susan, Karen, Jason, Kelly, and Brian, nine great grandchildren: Anastasia, Elizabeth, Ryan, Victoria, Caleb, Karleigh, Kaileigh, Brielle and Charlie. John is predeceased by one sister Winifred Hoffman (2005).
Funeral services will begin at 8:45am Saturday October 13th from the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. A funeral liturgy will be 9:30am at Nativity of
Our Lord RC Church, Monroe Twp., followed by Entombment in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, S. Brunswick. Visitation will be Friday from
2-4pm and 7-9pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holt International Childrens' Services or American Kidney Fund.
