Obituary of Johanna Abramsen

Johanna (Hagg) Abramsen died on Friday August 24, 2012 at Mount Arlington Senior Living in Mt. Arlington, NJ. She was 99 years old. Mrs. Abramsen was born and raised in Brooklyn and resided there for 58 years. She later lived in East Brunswick before moving to Long Valley in 1977. She had a career in the jewelry trade in NYC mostly as a special order clerk for A. Jaffe & Sons where she worked for 18 years before her retirement in 1971. She enjoyed gardening was an expert in tatting and French lacing. She was an excellent cook and baker. She was an avid reader and liked puzzles and sudoko. She was former president of the Long Valley Senior Citizens Organization.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, Charles A. in 1948.
She is survived by three daughters, Joan Syre of Toms River, Carol Ann Perullo and her husband Carmine of Monroe Twp., and Johanna Blom and her husband Robert of Califon, one sister, Louise Abrams of Jewett, NY, seven grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and many other extended family members.
A funeral service will be 11:00am Tuesday August 28, 2012 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. Entombment will follow in Marlboro Memorial Cemetery Mausoleum, Marlboro. Visitation will be from 3pm – 6pm on Monday at the funeral home.
