Obituary of Peter John Malloy

Peter John Malloy, of Monroe Township, New Jersey, and previously of Morganton, NC passed away Friday, July 20, 2012 surrounded by his loving wife, children, and grandchildren. He was 80 years old. Born in The Bronx, NY, Mr. Malloy raised his family in Old Bridge, NJ and then retired to Morganton, NC. He returned to Monroe Township, New Jersey a year ago. Peter was a United States Marine during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Malloy was a personnel executive for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals for 34 years and retired in 1991. He was a parishioner of Nativity of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church in Monroe, and a former parishioner of St. Charles Borremeo Catholic Church of Morganton, NC where he was a member of the Men's Cursillo. He was an avid animal lover, softball player, a Little League umpire and enjoyed camping with his family. Upon retirement he enjoyed gardening, oil painting, and drawing. He is predeceased in death by his sister, Lillian Malloy Taylor. Peter is survived by his wife, Diane of 49 years, a sister, Lorraine Malloy Lenz of Port St. Lucie, FL, 6 children; MaryEllen Malloy Mishner and her husband Scott of East Brunswick, NJ, Peter Malloy and his wife Mary of San Francisco, Melissa Malloy Renzi and her partner Eric of Hamilton, NJ, Janice Malloy Bahash and her husband Rob of Plano, TX, Matthew Malloy of Hickory, NC, and Christopher Malloy and his partner Christel of Valdese, NC and his 12 grandchildren, Ryan, Evan, Danielle, Nicholas, Mara, Julia, Tyler, Lindsey, Thomas, Grace, Michael, and Emma.
