Stanley F. Szmyd, Jr. died on Sunday June 24, 2012 at his home in Monroe Twp. He was 52 years old. Mr. Szmyd was born in Spring Lake Heights. He was raised in South River and resided there until moving to Monroe Twp. in 1986. He was a lab technician for Hercules, Inc. in Parlin for 23 years before his retirement in 2000. He was a member and former Tiler for the Jamesburg Elks Lodge 2180 and was an honorary member of the Hercules Rod and Gun Club in Parlin. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a huge Dallas Cowboy Fan.
He was pre-deceased by his father, Stanley F. Szmyd, Sr. in 1992, and his sister, Sandra DeVoe in 1999.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Judy (Andrejewski) Szmyd of Monroe Twp., his mother, Bernice (Godlewski) Szmyd of South River, four children, Dawn Adams and her husband Kevin of LosGatos, CA, Gary Brown and his wife Kelly of South Amboy, Stanley F. Szmyd, III of Monroe Twp., and Jaci Szmyd of Monroe Twp., five grandchildren, Brittany, Toni Ann, Hunter, Beth, and Edwin, and many other extended family members.
A funeral service will be at 11:00am Thursday June 28, 2012 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Church Cemetery, Monroe Twp. Visitation will be from 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
