Obituary of Robert R. Schroeder

Mr. Robert R. Schroeder died suddenly on June 19th at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. He was 57 years old. Born in Jersey City, he was raised in Milltown and lived there for 27 years, before moving to Helmetta.
Bob was a 1973 graduate of St. Joseph's HS in Edison and later attended Monmouth College. Active in the trucking industry, he had been a member of Teamsters Union Local 863, Mountainside, and recently became owner and operator of CRS Transport in Calrstadt, NJ.
He loved all sports and followed football, baseball, basketball and hockey. His favorite teams were the NY Giants and NY Mets. But his real passion was his Harley Davidson motorcycle which he loved to ride with his friends.
He was a loving husband, father and friend, who often put others before himself. He will be truly missed by all who knew him, but fortunately he left his family and friends with many wonderful memories.
He was predeceased by his parents, Gilbert and Anne Louise (Lynn) Schroeder. Surviving are his wife of 29 years, Carol, a son, David P., two daughters, Melissa A. and Amanda L. all of Helmetta, a brother, William G. and his wife, Cindy of Hillsborough, a brother in law, Mark Silverstein of Rumson, a sister in law, Donna Blado and her husband, Peter of Morganville, and many cousins.
Visitation will be Saturday June 23rd from 3 to 7pm at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:am Sunday June 24th at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Monmouth Junction.
