Virginia R. Marchese died peacefully at her residence on Tuesday May 22, 2012. Virginia was born in Brooklyn, NY and resided essentially all of her married life in Sussex County, NJ before moving to Monroe Twp. 14 years ago. Virginia was a long standing member of the Ladies' Auxiliary of Alexander Linn Hospital of Sussex, NJ serving as its president for several years. An avid golfer and tennis player, Virginia was also a gourmet cook who delighted in preparing elaborate dinners for her entire family. Virginia is predeceased by her oldest son, Gary (killed in a boating accident in 1969 at the age of 13) and is survived by her loving husband of 58 years Frank P. Marchese, M.D., a son David and his wife Janet of Hummelstown, PA., and three daughters: Karen Lerner and her husband Dr. Michael of Warren, NJ, Debra Nelson and her husband Major Edward of Alexandria, VA., Lauri Gross and her husband Brent of Auburn Twp., OH. Also surviving are a brother Lawrence Pronio and his wife Claire of East Brunswick, NJ and five grandchildren: Zachary, Gregory, Benjamin, Katherine and Noah.
