Mr. Richard T. Carroll died suddenly at his home on May 10, 2012. He was 61 years old. Born in New Brunswick, he was raised in East Brunswick and graduated from East Brunswick HS. He then moved to South River and had lived there for over 15 years. He served in the US Army from 1969 to 1971 during the Vietnam War.
Richard worked as a millwright out of the Millwrights Union Local 715 for 15 years, before taking disability retirement in 2010. He was a member of the Italian American Club of Edison, and enjoyed watching and supporting winning sports teams wherever they were from, and playing cards with family and friends.
His mother, Margaret Ross Carroll died in 1985 and a brother, Robert died in November of 2011. Surviving are a daughter, Jaime Carroll and her significant other, Brian Cioffi of Williamsport, PA, his father, Walter N. Carroll, Sr. and his wife, Doris of Toms River, a step son, Robert Barasky of North Brunswick, a step daughter, Kimberly Barasky of TX, two brothers, Walter N. Jr., of FL and Dennis of Monroe Township, a sister, Lynn Ann Potkulski of East Brunswick, and four grandchildren, Alyssa, Aaron, Amber and Aiden.
Visitation will be Monday May 14th at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Township from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A funeral service will be offered at 8PM. Private cremation will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions will be graciously accepted by the family or may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
