Obituary of John H. Stark, Jr.

Morganville, NJ John H. Stark, Jr. died on Thursday May 10, 2012 at Centra-State Medical Center, Freehold. Mr. Stark was born on December 13, 1938 in New Brunswick. He was raised in East Brunswick and has resided in Morganville for 40 years. He attended East Brunswick and South River Schools. He was a supervisor of grounds and maintenance at Johnson & Johnson in North Brunswick for 35 years before his retirement in 2000. John served many years in volunteer emergency services and was very active in First Aid and Fire Companies. He was a member of North Brunswick #2, South Old Bridge, and a life member of Robertsville Volunteer Fire Co. He was a charter member of the Monroe Twp. First Aid Squad, life member and past captain of Morganville Volunteer First Aid Squad, member of the NJ State First Aid Council, the J & J First Aid Squad and Fire Brigade, and was a member of the Raceway Park EMS and fire crew where he was widely known as 'Pops.' John was an avid golfer, gardener, handyman, and enjoyed helping his family and neighbors whenever they needed assistance. In honor of Dad's love of life and to celebrate that love, the family requests that those attending the services dress in bright vibrant colors. He was pre-deceased by his parents, John H., Sr., and Anna (Esser) Stark, and one brother, Leroy. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carolyn A. (Hibbitts) Stark of Morganville, four sons, John H. Stark, III and his wife Margaret of Lakewood, Craig T. Stark and his wife Connie of Monroe Twp., Scott J. Stark and his wife Janet of Hazlet, and Todd M. Stark of Brick, 11 grandchildren, John Stark and his wife Sarah, Christopher Stark, Theresa Stark, Nicole Stark, Megan Stark, Jayme Stark, Kevin Cable, Amber Kelly and her husband Jon, Kasey Stark, Alan Shofner, and Matt Shofner, 11 siblings, Joyce Eamello and her husband Harold of Jamesburg, Bette Rappa and her husband Lou of Orlando, FL, Doug Stark of Monroe Twp., Albert Stark and his wife Jackie of Jackson, Wayne Stark and his wife Denise of Monroe Twp., Artie Stark and his wife Patti of Alabama, Randy Stark of North Brunswick, Alice Stark of Spotswood, Doris Shahinian and her husband Mike of Manchester, and Jerry Stark of Monroe Twp., and many other extended family members. A funeral service will be 10:00am on Sunday May 13, 2012 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. Cremation is private. Visitation will be from 2-6pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
