My dad (Charles Robertson) served with Steve aboard the USS Goff. I was born while they were serving together. I remember growing up my parents attending the ShipMates dinners and picnics.
In latter years I had the privelege of bringing the Eucharist to Steve and latter to Helen. I will fondly remember our Sunday morning visits. May they rest in peace.

I was for a while the filler in the void in her and her husband's life. When I was in a developing part of my life and a place where I thought I was alone Aunt Helen and Uncle Steve took me in as a sense as being their own, maybe the little boy that they never had. I was never left out and only know love from them and her brothers and sister while I was away from home. I with always love all the this part of my family and I celebrate Aunt Helen's life because it is a true celebration. Tommy L.

Aunt Helen was my confirmation godmother. I remember her taking me to the Ringling Brothers B&B Circus in NY city when I was 9 yrs. old, spending a little time each summer at Pt. Pleasant Beach, and watching fireworks on July 4th in her backyard with my children. As she got older I always told her that she wasn't going anywhere until St. Peter throws open those pearly gates to heaven. I'm sure she was smiling when she walked thru.
