Obituary of William L. Edwards

Mr. William L. Edwards died unexpectedly while visiting with his daughter and her family in Virginia on April 23, 2012. He was 70 years old.
Born in Staten Island, he lived in Manalapan for 35 years, moving to Clearbrook in Monroe Township in 2004. He worked for 10 years with the Manalapan Twp. Department of Public Works, retiring in 2004. He was a former member of St. Thomas More RC Church in Manalapan and was presently a member of Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, in Monroe Twp. Mr. Edwards was active in several clubs and organizations in the Clearbrook community, including the Italian American Club. He also enjoyed golf and bowling.
His wife, Francine (Tombi) died in 2010. Surviving are his daughter, Kristen Carey and her husband, Bruce of Carson, VA, two sons, John and his wife, Jacqueline of Sparta, NJ, and Thomas and his wife, Silvana of No. Hanover, NJ, a brother, Robert of Kansas City, MO, two sisters, Edie DeLuca of Lakewood, NJ and Nancy Sica of Jackson, NJ and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will begin at 8:45am Friday at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 9:30am at Nativity of Our Lord RCC, Monroe Twp. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Visitation is Thursday 2-4 and 7-9pm.
