Obituary of John S. Rotepel

Mr. John S. Rotepel died Wednesday March 21st at the home of his niece. He was 94 years old. Born in Wilmington, DE, he lived in Jersey City, Carlstadt and then Clearbrook in Monroe Twp. for 35 years, moving to his niece's home in Belvidere two years ago. He had a 50+ year career in the transportation and trucking industry as a trucking firm owner and lastly as terminal manager for Kocheran Trucking, Carlstadt, NJ retiring in 1982. He served in the Army from 1935 to 1938 and then again during WW 2 from 1942 to 1946. He was an active member of Nativity of Our Lord RCC, and its' Holy Name Society of Monroe Twp. His wife Helen M. Halapi died in 2005. Surviving are two nieces, Eileen Larkin of Belvidere, Patricia Bryk of Plain, PA, a sister Jane Schumacher of Stroudsburg, PA and many other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and great great nieces and great great nephews. Funeral services will begin 9:45am Saturday from the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 10:30am at Nativity of Our Lord RCC, Monroe Twp. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, So. Brunswick. Visitation is Friday from 3pm to 7pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Compassionate Care Hospice Foundation 350 Sparta Ave. Suite 2, Sparta, NJ 07871.
