Obituary of Ellen Birnbaum

Ellen (Rosenberg) Birnbaum died Monday March 12th at the Gardens of Monroe Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was 62 years old.
Born in the Bronx, she grew up in Wantaugh, LI, and then in Beechhurst, Queens. She lived in Old Bridge, NJ for 30 years and finally moved to Stonebridge in Monroe Township in 2007.
She was a secretary for Tenneco Oil Co., NYC and then took time to raise her son and daughter. Later she became the office manager for Dr. Josselman in Perth Amboy, NJ and finally for Majestic Communications in Old Bridge, retiring in 1992. While in Stonebridge, she started a knitting club, and taught the craft, and enjoyed making cermaics, gardening anad walking.
Surviving are her husband of 43 years, Steven, a son, Adam of Helmetta, NJ a daughter, Kim Lutter and her husband William of Manalapan, NJ, two sisters, Gail Fishman of Lauder Hill, FL and JoAnne DiPiazza of Paradise Valley, AZ and a granddaughter, Ashley Samantha Birnbaum.
Funeral services were private under the direction of the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Monroe Township, NJ. Shiva will be observed at her residence, 19 Steeple Rd., Stonebridge, Monroe Township, NJ Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of NJ 400 Broadacre Dr. Bloomfield, NJ 07003.
