Monroe Township Mr. George A. Sudakov died suddenly on Sunday March 4th at home. He was 79 years old. Born in Leningrad, Russia, he lived in several areas in Russia before emigrating from Moscow to the US in 2009. After serving in The Russian Army from 1955 to 1957, he worked as a geologist in the oil exploration and discovery industry in Russia for 30 years, retiring in 1992. Very active in physical activities when he was young, he was involved in gymnastics and was very active while living at Concordia in Monroe Township with swimming and biking. He was also an expert chess player and was never in want of a match with his friends at Concordia. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Elena Prozorova, a son, Alex G. and his wife, Eleanor of Jackson, and a granddaughter, Maria. Funeral services will begin Thursday at 9:00am from the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp. A funeral service will be offered at St. Vladimir's Russian Orthodox Church, Jackson at 10:00am. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-4pm only. For directions, please visit www.demarcofuneralhome.com.
