Mr. Leighton Jacob died on Saturday February 11th at Robert Wood Johnson-University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was 70 years old.
Born in Trinidad, West Indies, he came to the US in 1969. Mr. Jacob received a BA from City College in New York and worked as an accountant, and later as the manager of a gasoline service station. He finally worked for US Steel in Pennsylvania as a mill worker for 13 years, retiring in 2003. He was a member of Redeemed Christian Church of God in Sayreville.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Yolanda (White), a son, Brandon of East Brunswick, six brothers, four sisters, and a granddaughter, Skylar.
A service of song will be celebrated at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, 14 McArthur Ave. Sayreville, NJ 08780 on Friday evening from 7-9pm. Visitation will be Saturday Feb. 18th from 8-10am at the M David DeMarco Funeral Home 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp. Funeral services will be celebrated at 10am at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Fernwood Cemetery, Jamesburg.
